Note on the Status of (August 2018)

In December of 2017, I took a new teaching position at the Singapore American School (SAS), starting in August of 2018.  Initially, I had anticipated that this would mean that would re-enter active development.  However, now that I am (thankfully) well ensconced in the new job, it turns out that there are not a lot of reasons for me to actually do that. represents a thing that was useful in the educational webspace of four years ago.  My current course management is handled within the SAS platforms (a combination of Schoology and the SAS gSuite).  So I apologize if you were anticipating this site returning to its maximal functionality and a representation of the most current iterations of my courses.  That’s just not in the cards right now.

I anticipate a large-scale revision of the site, once my first academic year at SAS has ended.  Until then, this place is going to stay pretty much as it is right now.  And even then, I might wind up getting lost in other projects, as I tend to do.

But What About The Goods?

Aside from my students, the major portion of traffic consists of teachers and students from other places, who are accessing the resources that are available.  All resources remain available at the same place on this site that they have always been available (Chemistry here, and AP Biology here).   My web host for this site is awesome, and cheap.   At the same time, it’s not free.  If you would like to contribute to the longterm status of, you can support the site (by supporting me) either on PayPal (one-time thing) or Patreon (more sustaining support).

What about <OTHER THING>?

I’m sure I have an answer.  Contact me to find out what it is.

Words can not express how awesome I think it is that so many people find this website useful for their own teaching.  I am fully aware that many people visit every day to use the stuff I’ve put here.  I’m really glad to be able to keep this place around, and I’m sorry that it currently represents a course vision for Biology and Chemistry that is somewhat aged, by digital standards.  At the same time, the bones are good, and if the mothballs force teachers to modify the things that they find here for their own purpose, then that’s probably a good thing.

  1. You are a big help and inspiration to so many of us, David. Thank you for taking the time to let us know your resources will still be available.

  2. First of all, Congratulations! Secondly, thank you so much for thinking of your fellow educators and continuing to help all of us ( I have certainly reaped the benefits of your website as have my students. )

    Wishing you the best!
